Alexandra Neighbourhood House is looking for a friendly, outgoing "people person" willing and able to facilitate our monthly Celebrating Community Lunch, on the second Wednesday of each month (except July and August).
Responsibilities include assisting the Manager of Community programs with planning the event (helping locate and contact entertainers, devising games and activities); liaising with the cook and volunteer driver prior to the event; welcoming patrons and receiving their money (paid in cash); emceeing the event and coordinating any games or activities; disseminating information at the lunch about Alex House programs and events; and ensuring the entertainers are paid their honorarium.
The successful applicant will first shadow and assist the Manager of Community Programs, before being given responsibility for executing the lunch solo.
