COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on our neighbourhoods. It has changed how we live, work and interact with one another. But it has been our most vulnerable and isolated citizens, those who were already struggling before the pandemic struck, who have been hardest hit by the global crisis – facing unforeseen job losses, food scarcity and increasing mental health issues. While we’ve witnessed extraordinary need in our communities as a result of the pandemic, we have also seen unprecedented acts of volunteerism and support. Through your acts of local love, we’ve been able to harness the power of community and have seen what can be achieved when we work together, even when staying physically apart.
Your health and safety are important to us.
Maintain physical distancing by keeping a minimum 2-meter distance between you and any other person not in your immediate family.
Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and often. Wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and rinse under clean running water.
If you are at all unsure of your health status, the BC Centre for Disease Control’s online self-assessment tool is available at https://covid19.thrive.health/.
