Can you help us pick up food for children in need?
Westcoast Family Centres needs a driver to pick up bags of food donated for local children, and deliver them to our Food Hub on Saturdays in Port Coquitlam. The United Way Food Hub receives food and meal donations from local grocers to be distributed to families in the Tri-Cities. The Hub operates on Saturdays and is a hive of activity that needs additional helpers.
You will collect bags of non perishable food from Backpack Buddies at 2272 Leigh Square, Elks Lodge, back doors at 10:30 a.m. and deliver them to our Food Hub location at 2175 Coquitlam Avenue, Kinsmen Centre in Port Coquitlam. The time commitment needed is approx 1.5 hours. Come and be part of an exceptional organization doing exceptional things for our communities!
Your own car and a valid BC driver's license is required.

We need your help and your positive energy!
The safety of our clients, staff, and volunteers is of utmost importance to us. We have taken steps to ensure our offices are prepared: sanitized frequently, signage is in place for staff and visitors to practice physical distancing and that gloves, mandatory masks and sanitizer are readily accessible. Our office sites will remain closed to the public to limit the number of people accessing the building. Staff are required to follow all Public Health guidelines related to COVID-19 including regular hand washing, social distancing as much as possible, and wearing a mask.
If you are feeling flu-like symptoms (fever, tiredness, coughing or congestion), do NOT come to your scheduled session. Stay home.
If you have been exposed to the virus, you must self-isolate for two (2) weeks. Even if you don’t feel symptoms, you must self-isolate for 14 days if you have been travelling or otherwise exposed to the virus (i.e. been in contact with a person with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19). Make sure to call the WFC Staff to let them know within 24 hours of your volunteer shift, and it is recommended that you call 8-1-1 for medical advice.
