Description

Can you prepare and deliver food hampers at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre?

The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre needs weekly volunteers to help on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Timing can be flexible for these shifts (10am-12pm or 1-3pm). The task is to help shop for food, prepare hampers, and assist with delivery (vehicle/driving qualification not required although could be useful).

Please contact Kaila Wong at programadministrator@vafcs.org if you have further questions.

Time Commitment: 2 hours

This shift re-occurs on a weekly basis. You are welcome to sign up for single or multiple shifts.

Your health and safety are important to us.

The safety of our clients, staff, and volunteers is of utmost importance to us. We have taken steps to ensure our offices are prepared: sanitized frequently, signage is in place for staff and visitors to practice physical distancing and that gloves, mandatory masks and sanitizer are readily accessible. Our office sites will remain closed to the public to limit the number of people accessing the building. Staff are required to follow all Public Health guidelines related to COVID-19 including regular hand washing, social distancing as much as possible, and wearing a mask.

If you are feeling flu-like symptoms (fever, tiredness, coughing or congestion), do NOT come to your scheduled session. Stay home.

If you have been exposed to the virus, you must self-isolate for two (2) weeks. Even if you don’t feel symptoms, you must self-isolate for 14 days if you have been travelling or otherwise exposed to the virus (i.e. been in contact with a person with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19). Make sure to call the WFC Staff to let them know within 24 hours of your volunteer shift, and it is recommended that you call 8-1-1 for medical advice.

If you are at all unsure of your health status, the BC Centre for Disease Control’s online self-assessment tool is available at https://bc.thrive.health/
