Can you help a neighbour by picking up and delivering a Food Hamper from Burnaby Neighbourhood House?

A volunteer is needed to pick up and deliver two (2) food hampers to the homes of two neighbours this Friday.  Basic details are as follows:

- pick up hamper at North Burnaby Neighbourhood House, 4908 Hastings St., at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18
and then immediately take for delivery to two drop offs:

- delivery 1 to: Amberwood Pl., Burnaby

- delivery 2 to: Woodbrook Place, Burnaby (delivery order between the two may be interchanged)

Time Commitment: Approximately 1.5 - 2 hours.  The two drop offs are about a 6 minute drive apart on either side of Burnaby Mountain.

How this works:  

Once you've responded to this opportunity, we'll email the neighbour's contact information and drop off details to you. 

Time Commitment: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.  

This is a one-time commitment with recurring shifts available. If you can sign up for recurring shifts, please do!

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR VOLUNTEERS: Please contact Mandy at basilt@uwbc.ca and info@ivolunteer.ca immediately if:

  • you feel unwell before or on the day of your shift. Please stay home and do not volunteer.
  • you are unable to fulfill your shift commitment. If possible, please try to provide a minimum notice of two days to allow us to make alternate arrangements or find another volunteer.

REMINDER: It’s important to unregister yourself from the shift if you’re unable to fulfill your commitment – this will allow another volunteer to register for your spot.

Your health and safety are important to us.  

While volunteering, please maintain a minimum 2-meter distance between you and any other person not in your immediate family. Where physical distancing is not possible, it is advisable for all parties to wear face masks. 

Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and often. Wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and rinse under clean running water.  When hand-washing is not possible, it is advisable to use hand sanitizer.
