Opportunity Description
As part of UWBC’s United for Ukraine Initiative, we are connecting donated items with displaced Ukrainians in need. As part of this work, we are setting up a staging area to store items for a short time before they are distributed.
The UWBC Room Setup Volunteers will be working directly with a UWBC Volunteer Coordinator to help assemble shelves, move tables and donations to the staging area in our underground parkade. With extra hands, we hope to make complete this task more quickly and efficiently.
What you will be helping with:
- Help to move tables, assemble simple shelving
- Moving of donations from the main office area into underground parkade
Other Helpful Information:
- This volunteer locations is INDOORS at UWBC Burnaby Office (4543 Canada Way, Burnaby BC)
- Volunteer must be able to lift and move boxes and furniture (with help)
- Carts for helping moving are available
- Please wear close toes shoes
- Volunteers must be double vaccinated in order to participate.
- Free parking available
- Training and orientation will be provided at start of the shift
- Volunteers are encouraged to bring minimal belongings as there may not be a secure place for them while volunteer.
