About this Initiative
There is a huge need for child car seats in our community. With the increase in the cost of living, these essential items are pushed down the priority list.
UWBC along with it's partners are providing new car seats that are distributed to families in need in your local community.
Volunteer Role
Volunteers safely welcome vehicles to the hub locations and guiding drivers to the pick up location. Volunteers will help answer any questions people may have.
Responsibilities:
- Volunteers will directed by UWBC staff
- Safely welcome and guide vehicles to the pick up location
- Ability to stand between 1-3 hours at a Community Hub location directing traffic.
- Wearing a "Hi-Vis" safety vest/ jacket and any other PPE as required by the site
- No requirement to enter premises of community agency. No requirement to provide other services to community agency
- Every effort should be made to maintain safety standards and to work with others to achieve the goal
Time Commitment: 2 hours
This is a one-time event; it will start at 8:30 am and last approximately 2 hours total depending on the delivery location. The event will commence on August 8th.
There will be a volunteer debrief before the event; expectations will be explained at this time.
