About this initiative
Better at Home programs support helps seniors across BC with simple, day-to-day tasks that allow them to live independently and remain connected to their communities.
The Need:
As winter sets in, we anticipate the need to support seniors will grow in the coming weeks. We are recruiting volunteer drivers to pick up and deliver meals or groceries for seniors in their communities.
We are seeking volunteer drivers for Better at Home programs in communities across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley to deliver meals and groceries to seniors in their communities.
We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable being contacted during the day. Responding to this opportunity lets us know you are available for this call-out.
Please indicate your availability - you will receive a call ONLY if there is a need during your availability. You may not be called if there is not a need.
Related tasks:
- Select shifts that meet your availability - click "Respond Individually"
- Wait on a call/email should a need arise that matches your availability. (If there is not a need, you will not be contacted)
- Confirm your ability to help when contacted by the Better at Home Coordinator
- Log your hours in iVolunteer after your shift
What you will be helping with:
- Picking up (meals or groceries) from an assigned pick-up point
- Dropping off (meal or groceries) at a senior's home
Additional information:
Each delivery should not take more than an hour to complete.
