As a volunteer in our Group Mentoring program, Game On!, you will provide youth with the knowledge to make informed decisions about a range of healthy lifestyle practices while focusing on fun activity-based play.

Groups meet once weekly for 90-minute sessions during weekday afternoons at a school or community centre for 8 to 10 weeks. Groups engage in life skills, communication, and social-emotional discussions that encourage healthy lifelong habits.

As a Game On! Group Mentor, you are

  • Male, trans, and gender-diverse individuals who are 18+.
  • Reliable, consistent, dedicated, and respectful of others.
  • Able to meet once weekly for 90-minute sessions from Monday to Friday between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

As a Game On! volunteer, you are asked to enroll in a minimum of two 8-week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.

You will be matched with

  • Boys, trans, and gender-diverse children and youth in grades 4 to 7.
  • Youth who could benefit from building self-confidence and learning healthy lifestyle choices.

Training

  • You will be supported throughout your match by one of our experienced case workers, also known as a Mentoring Coordinator.
  • No prior experience working with children is necessary. Free training is provided!

Locations

Currently running programs at schools and community centres in Surrey and Vancouver.
