Located at Mill Lake Church, the Mill Lake Community Cupboard is a valuable year-round community resource that provides essential sustenance for our most vulnerable residents.
About the Role:
Community Cupboard Volunteer Stewards play a crucial role in ensuring that the Cupboard remains well stocked, clean and welcoming for those who need it most.
Time: Flexible
While flexible scheduling is available, we request at least three hours per week to maintain the consistency and effectiveness of the Cupboard.
We recommend checking the Cupboard twice on the day of your shift. Please sign up for shifts here.
Responsibilities:
- Restock shelves ensuring that the oldest items are used first.
- Regularly clean pantry shelves and dispose of expired food.
- Collaborate with Hi Neighbour Community Builder Jasmine to ensure necessary items are available for restocking.
- Report any concerns, damage or issues to Jasmine.

- Ability to lift boxes and bags up to 25 pounds.

Volunteer Orientation / Check In
- 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month
- When you sign up, we'll send you the Zoom link to join the orientation.
