Volunteer Position - Grocery Order taker
Intent of Program - To provide a supported shopping service to seniors who face multiple barriers making it difficult to shop for groceries and daily essentials.
Duties - Make calls from a given list of clients. Follow instructions outlined in the instructional manual on how to place orders. Input the client's grocery order using the on-line shopping program.
Qualifications - Basic computer skills. Ability to speak and understand English. Must be able to use the internet and communicate via email and telephone. Good interpersonal skills: friendly, courteous, patient. Ability to work independently Capacity to maintain confidentiality. Able to communicate in a clear and effective manner. Punctual and reliable. Detail orientated.
Requirements - Mandatory criminal record check. Must be renewed every 5 years. Provide two references.
Commitment required - One weekday morning, weekly; starting at 9:30am; approx. 2 hours

Training required - Volunteer orientation. Program training provided by Support Services Program Coordinator (approx. 1 hr.) Additional training as required.
