About this Event:

Strike It by Share Care Recreation for Vision Loss is an empowering bowling event for individuals living with vision impairment. This event is designed to foster a vibrant and engaging environment, demonstrating that vision loss does not limit one's ability to live fully and actively participate in community activities. The event takes place on April 12 from 11am - 4pm

About the Roles:

We are looking for 4 enthusiastic volunteers to join us at the Strike It By Care Recreation for Loss Event. This event presents a unique opportunity to connect with the residents of Guildford and expand your understanding of community relationships. Volunteers play a key role in creating a supportive environment and a successful event 

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

Please arrive at 10:30 am to be briefed on your roles and help with event set up.  Volunteers will be engaged in the following roles:

  • Set up (all volunteers):  All volunteers will assist staff with setting up the event space before it begins.
  • Event Guides (2 volunteers):  Offer guidance and support for participants throughout the event, ensuring they can navigate the space safely and enjoy the activities. 
  • Food & Beverage Servers (2 volunteers): Assist with serving food and beverage to event participants, ensuring everyone has access to refreshments during the event
  • Tear down (all volunteers): All volunteers will assist staff with tearing down and cleaning up the event space when it concludes. 

Requirements:

  • Bring a positive attitude and energy to the event
  • Be open and friendly to all participants, fellow volunteers and staff
  • Willingness to engage with the public, offering assistance and information
  • Be patient, respectful and supportive when interacting with participants.
