Event Overview:
Join us for a fun and fulfilling day at the South Coquitlam Earth Day Celebration and Park Clean-up! This family-friendly event is perfect for high school students and families looking to engage in grassroots community activities. Volunteers will play a crucial role in making this event a success while learning about environmental stewardship and community involvement.
Volunteer Roles:
General information:
- We need 6 enthusiastic volunteers to help with general event support as well as a variety of tasks, crafts and activities.
- All volunteers must arrive by 9:15 AM for a briefing and to help with event set-up.
- All volunteers will help with cleaning up and take down after the event.
- Volunteers will be assigned crafts & activities related tasks on the day of the event. If you have a specific area you are interested in, please specify it when you register.
Duties:
- Set up: All volunteers will assist with pre-event set up (setting up tents, tables, refreshments, crafts and activities, etc.).
- Coordinating refreshments: Managing snack and water distribution.
- Assisting with crafts and activities: Facilitating and assisting with activities such as:
- rock-painting,
- button making,
- colouring,
- making wreaths from invasive plants,
- play-readings.
- Clean-up: All volunteers will assist with post-event clean up (picking up litter, collapsing tables and tents, etc.).

Requirements:
- No specific skills required; just a positive attitude and readiness to help!

- This is an outdoor event. Please be prepared for outdoor conditions and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
