We need 8 one-time volunteers at Sentinel Storage, 1550 Lucille Starr Drive, Coquitlam, BC (near Schoolhouse St.) to help us make a used clothing drive a successful fundraiser for Shiloh Place.
Six volunteers are needed on Saturday July 27 for a 3 hour shift - either 9 to noon or noon to 3PM, rain or shine.
Two are needed on Tuesday July 30th, 9:00AM to 10:30AM +.
Times either day are not flexible.
Rides to and from the nearest Skytrain station (Lougheed Centre ) before or at the end of a shift can be pre-scheduled, if needed. Free parking for volunteers' cars is
available at the site.
July 27 tasks
Four of the July 27 volunteers will be using a push-button code to open electric gates for donors to access or exit the drop-off area. Chairs are available nearby but there will be quite a bit of getting up and down during the shift. This is an outdoor shift.
Two of the July 27 volunteers will help Shiloh Place volunteers in the storage unit with receiving/recording of bags and boxes of donated items and storing them in specific spots in the unit. (Lifting up to 15 pounds at a time and carrying these items up to about 15 feet.) These volunteers will be mainly working inside the storage unit. Chairs are available for times when there are no donors arriving. Some times during the shift will be busy and you will be on your feet for a while.
July 30th tasks
Two volunteers will assist Shiloh Place volunteers to carry the bags and boxes received and stored on July 27 to load up a large van (which will take the items to Value Village on United Blvd. Coquitlam). The van must arrive there at the pre-arranged time, so this loading work is very important. Some bags and boxes may weigh about 15 pounds and capacity to lift into the van is necessary. This volunteer job is working inside and out and the event is rain or shine.
Free parking for volunteer's car is available on site. Rides to and from nearest Skytrain station (Lougheed Centre) may be possible to pre-arrange.
