Opportunities for volunteer delivery drivers are available on a weekly basis (Monday, Wednesday or Friday) and on-call to fill in as needed. Your commitment during this crucial time slot can ensure that those in need receive a warm meal and a friendly smile to brighten their day. Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to Arrowsmith Lodge Care Facility on time
for shifts
Check route sheet for any new clients and
familiarize yourself with their location.
Consult with Coordinator, if
necessary
Return empty meal bags/food containers to
Arrowsmith Lodge at end of shift
Communicate effectively with Coordinator regarding
schedule changes and availability.
Notify the Coordinator of any client
concerns immediately
Make sound decisions in stressful situations
The SOS Volunteer Policy binds to and forms part
of this job description which will be provided during the application
process
Required Qualifications:
Valid
Class 5 BC Driver Licence (copy to be submitted initially and upon renewal)
Valid
vehicle insurance with minimum $2M Third Party Liability coverage (copy to be
submitted initially and upon renewal)
Good
driving record and a reliable vehicle
Ability
to navigate safely to complete delivery routes on time
Schedule, Training and
Commitment:
On
shift training provided including Occupational Health and Safety
Shifts
available: Monday, Wednesday, Friday starting at 11:00 am and runs for approx. 2 hours
