We've got just the thing! Alegria Soy’s resident-led World Party celebrates the diverse cultures that make Edmonds unique, and we need amazing volunteers like you to help make it happen.
This outdoor festival is a vibrant mix of active living and cultural connection right in the heart of our community. From traditional dances and melodic music to engaging children’s crafts, we’ve got it all. Plus, you’ll get to experience captivating performances, workshops, and exhibits that showcase Edmonds' immense cultural wealth.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities:
Volunteers are key to ensuring the success of our event and providing a great experience for all attendees. By joining us, you’ll be a part of an event that builds, values, embraces, and uplifts the diverse cultures within our community. It’s not just a fiesta; it’s a social change movement. It’s an excellent way to give back to the community, meet new people, and soak in the incredible atmosphere.
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help us with the following tasks:
Event Set Up (4 volunteers): 8:45 A.M. - 10:15 A.M.
Please arrive promptly at 8:45 A.M.
You’ll assist in setting up tents, tables, and chairs according to the provided layout. After the setup, you can enjoy the rest of the festivities.
Event Take Down (4 volunteers): 4:15 A.M. - 5:45 A.M.
Please arrive promptly at 8:45 A.M.
Your task will be to close down the tents and move them, along with tables and chairs, to the designated pick-up area.
Important Information for All Volunteers:
- We strongly recommend using public transportation instead of driving
- Stay hydrated! Bring your water bottle and be sure to drink plenty of water throughout your shift
- Dress in breathable clothing and comfortable shoes
- Wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun
- Take breaks! Bring a chair or blanket to take regular breaks in shaded areas
- If you feel unwell from heat exposure during the event, please seek immediate help from your event leads
