Position Type: Fully remote
Estimated Time Commitment: 2-4 hours/week, flexible and may vary
Qualifications
●Education or experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
●Familiarity with bookkeeping and financial reporting.
●Commitment to DC Coding’s mission and values.
●Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
●Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
●Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Wave, Excel) is an asset.
●Understanding of nonprofit accounting is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
●Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using accounting software or spreadsheets.
●Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
●Budget Management: Assist in creating and monitoring budgets for various programs and initiatives.
●Compliance: Ensure financial practices align with nonprofit regulations and assist in preparing for audits if needed.
●Process Improvement: Recommend and help implement efficient accounting procedures.
