Description

Canadian Mental Health Organization is a non-profit organization promoting mental health and supporting individuals that face various mental illness, addiction and homelessness. Through offering support, education and resources to individuals and families, we collaborate with other community agencies to make sure people get the right help and support they need. 


As a Rosethorn House Volunteer, you will be a jack of all trades! From helping with fundraising, to assisting with programs, setup/cleanup tasks, donations, community engagement, kitchen, hosting fun and inclusive activities in the programs, and more, there will always be something new to do. 

This is the right role for you if you are someone who: 

  • Wants to make a meaningful difference in your community by supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, addiction, or homelessness 

  • Is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic non-profit setting with a variety of tasks and opportunities 

  • Hopes to build your resume, strengthen your communication and teamwork skills, and explore potential career paths in social work, psychology, or related fields 

  • Enjoys being flexible, stepping into different roles, and contributing to a supportive, inclusive environment 

  • Values collaboration and is open to learning from others in a community-based organization 

A Rosethorn Volunteer’s main tasks are: 

  •  Helping on a more frequent basis 

  •  Set-ups for trainings, fundraising or events 

  •  Organizing donations 

  • Hosting activities in programs 

No training or experience is required! The following are assets but not required: 

  • Food Safe (required certificate for kitchen work) 

  • First Aid/CPR 

  • Naloxone Training 

  • WHMIS Training 


  • Time commitment:

The hours of volunteers will vary depending on the need. We will touch base when opportunities arise and we will work with your schedule! 

Volunteering in this role offers you:
