The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is a non-profit provincial organization dedicated to helping people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, to supporting caregivers, to promoting public awareness, and to funding research into finding the cause and the cure. The Walk for Alzheimer’s is a fundraising walk that takes place annually in communities across Canada. The Walk is instrumental in Funding important services, research, and activities for those dealing with Alzheimer and their families. 

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is our largest annual fundraising event, bringing communities together across the province to support those impacted by dementia. As a walk volunteer you will play a key role in creating a positive, uplifting event experience while helping raise vital funds and awareness.  

This is the right role for you if you are someone who: 

  • Who want to drive change and transform their community 

  • Is someone with fresh ideas and different perspectives 

  • Is passionate and dedicated  

  • Has a positive attitude and a willingness to help where needed 

AWalk for Alzheimer’s Volunteer’smain tasks are: 

  • Greeting and welcoming participants as they arrive  

  • Assisting with registration and providing event information  

  • Handing out refreshments and guiding participants along the walk route 

  • Helping with event setup and cleanup  

No prior experience is needed! We always welcome new members to provide new ideas and different perspectives and add to the passion and dedication of the group.  

 


Time commitment: 

We ask that volunteers commit to the morning (approximately 3.5 hours) on the day of the event.
