The Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society is a not-for-profit organization providing complimentary transportation for Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland residents battling cancer. We are supported solely by volunteers and donations!
Come join us and help make a difference. Our team of volunteer drivers and dispatchers offers peace of mind for patients who may not have the means to drive to and from essential cancer treatments and cancer related medical appointments. The physical, emotional and financial burden is lifted knowing our friendly volunteers are only a call away.
Drivers are required from across the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland with a pressing need for drivers from Burnaby, Vancouver and New Westminster areas.
As a volunteer driver, you will be expected to have between 1 and 4 hours available at least one day a week Monday to Friday between 8 AM and 6 PM. A drive entails you picking up the patient at their residence, driving to the treatment facility, waiting while the patient has their appointment and then driving them home again. If the appointment is going to be long, the dispatcher may assign one drive for delivery and a second drive for pickup.
We offer:
- Flexible Scheduling
- Mileage Allowance
- Complimentary Parking
- Safety Protocols
