About this initiative:
SHARE Family and Community Services volunteers help seniors who live in the following areas: Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. Our Better at Home programs support low or modest-income seniors with simple, day-to-day tasks that allow them to live independently and remain connected to their communities.
What will you be helping with:
- Make a difference in a senior’s day by driving them to their medical or non-medical appointment e.g. doctor’s clinic, pharmacy, bank, library, grocery store, recreation centre, etc.
- Volunteers pick up their assigned senior/s at their doorstep, take them to their appointment and return them home.
- Non-medical appointments are within the Tri-Cities and medical appointments may be in various areas across Metro Vancouver.
Volunteers do not attend medical appointments.
