Feels Like Home Newcomers is looking for a warm, reliable volunteer to join our passionate team in the Foundations Language & Life Skills program - an entry-level, community-based space that helps newcomer refugees feel safe, welcomed, and connected as they settle into their new community. As a volunteer instructor, you’ll help learners build practical everyday English (conversation, listening, basic reading/writing) alongside life skills topics like navigating the community, local services, and daily routines. This relational program is designed as a gentle bridge before participants move into more intensive language training or begin employment, and your encouragement and consistency make a real difference. Teaching experience is an asset but not required - patience, cultural humility, and a friendly, learner-centred approach are most important.
