Brella Community Services Society is seeking a compassionate and reliable volunteer to facilitate a weekly Caregiver Support Group. This meaningful role supports caregivers in our community by providing a safe and welcoming space to connect, share experiences, and receive peer support.
As a Volunteer Facilitator, you will help guide conversation, encourage participation, and foster a respectful, strengths-based environment where caregivers feel heard, supported, and valued. This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, organized, and passionate about supporting the well-being of others.
This is a meaningful opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of caregivers who often give so much of themselves to others.
Commitment:
Facilitate a weekly 1.5-hour caregiver support group (day/time to be confirmed)
Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate and guide a weekly caregiver support group

Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and strengths-based environment

Encourage balanced participation and respectful discussion

Support healthy boundaries within the group setting

Communicate any concerns or updates with program staff

Work collaboratively with staff who provide ongoing support and guidance
Qualifications & Skills:

Compassionate, patient, and a strong listener

Comfortable facilitating group conversation and supporting diverse perspectives

Experience in group facilitation, social services, counselling, or lived caregiving experience is considered an asset

Reliable and able to commit to regular weekly facilitation

Must be 18 years or older

Clear criminal record check required (provided at no cost through Brella link)
