Volunteer Friendly Visiting
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? We are seeking compassionate, reliable volunteers to bring joy, comfort and connection to older adults
You will provide companionship and engagement to older adults living in the community, via regular visits. We know friendly visiting enhances the lives of isolated seniors, improving physical, mental and emotional health in support of a higher quality of wellbeing. No clinical care is required. Your role as a friendly visitor volunteer is to provide friendship, support and stimulation in the lives of those you visit
What You Will Do
· Provide Companionship: Connect one-to-one
- Lead Activities: Engage clients with casual conversation, puzzles, board games, cards, or light activities, a walk
- Offer Comfort: Create a safe, and stress-free environment, tailored to individual needs of both individuals
Who We Are Looking For
- Compassionate, Patient & Empathetic: Individuals with a warm heart and good listening skills
- Reliable: Able to commit to a weekly or twice monthly schedule to build trust and routine with participants
- Dementia-Friendly: Experience or interest in interacting with people living with cognitive decline
- Volunteers do not drive clients
