The BC Safe Haven program is a free program that helps refugee claimants and asylum seekers (including humanitarian and vulnerable newcomers) settle in British Columbia. It offers all-in-one support for their integration.

Refugee Claimant is used to describe a person who has left their country of origin and is seeking legal protection in another country but has not yet been granted refugee status. They are fleeing external circumstances or experiences that have caused emotional, physical, or mental harm or trauma, but their claim for protection is still under review.
