Volunteer Child Minders for NELP (May)

Description

There are three groups of mothers and children who meet every other Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Duties:

Volunteers will help with child minding. This will include helping with a) physical activities in the gymnasium and outdoors, b) crafts, c) lessons on emotional literacy, d) puppetry, e) reading to children, and f) managing children’s behaviour.

Abilities:

Volunteers will need experience in dealing with children and will need to be capable of lifting infants and toddlers, as well as participating in physical activities such as games.

Age restrictions:

Need to be at least 14 years old.

Benefits:

Volunteers will receive training in emotional literacy, can stay for dinner at 5:00, and may qualify for letters of reference.  Transportation is available upon request, after the shift.
