We are currently seeking Volunteer Hosts to help create a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The PGCOS Emergency Warming Centre is now open, offering a safe and welcoming space for seniors during extreme cold, heat, or smoke events. As more seniors learn about this vital resource, we hope to expand our support.
As
a Host, you will:
* Greet seniors and help them settle in.
* Provide assistance as needed, such as offering coffee, tea, or snacks.
* Engage in friendly conversation or light activities to foster connection.
* Help tidy up at the end of the day.
* The Warming Centre operates during regular business hours whenever the City of Prince George issues an extreme weather notice (usually with 24 to 48 hours’ notice).
Volunteers
can sign up for:
Morning shift (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Afternoon shift (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
A PGCOS staff member will always be on-site for support.
If you are interested in this rewarding opportunity, we would love to hear from you!
