A variety of essential supports will be critical as displaced Ukrainian people arrive in BC and settle into local communities.
We invite compassionate British Columbians to help by assembling activity kits for the children of displaced families. Activity kits will give children a much-needed distraction, as well as a way to express themselves.
Activity kits are a quick and easy way to show your support. Do this on your own or gather with your neighbours, friends and family to assemble as many kits as you are able.
A few tips to help you get started:
- Purchase age-appropriate items for the kits
- Items should be new or not used
- Many or all items may be purchased at low-cost retail stores
- Consider choosing a back-pack that can be reused for school or a similar reusable bag
- If you are creating kits for several age groups, please label them by age
- You may also wish to include a cheerful welcome note from you and your family
- Track the time you’ve spent shopping and packing your kits
