A variety of essential supports will be critical as displaced Ukrainian people arrive in BC and settle into local communities.
We invite compassionate British Columbians to help by assembling student supply kits for the children of displaced families that will be attending high school. Student supply kits will give children much-needed tools to continue their education. The impact of disrupted school studies can be great, we need your help to ensure children are set up for success and have all the items needed to restart their schoolwork.
School supply kits are a quick and easy way to show your support. Do this on your own or gather with your neighbours, friends and family to assemble as many kits as you are able.
A few tips to help you get started:
- Purchase age-appropriate items for the kits
- Items should be new or not used
- Many or all items may be purchased at low-cost retail stores
- Consider choosing a backpack that can be used for school
- You may also wish to include a cheerful welcome note from you and your family
- Track the time you’ve spent shopping and packing your kits
